Me-Made-May 2015 - days 12-17

Although I love blogging about what I'm sewing/wearing/doing, I am still sensible enough to know that actually living is more important than talking about living. And this week has represented that ethos perfectly. Apologies for the lack of pictures.

On Monday I wore my awesome new red dress for the second time.

I didn't blog on Monday night because I went to a powerhoop class instead. Seriously good fun, but I was bruised and sore the next day!

On Tuesday I wore a stretchy pencil skirt which I love! Unfortunately it was a hot, uncomfortable day and I was all bruised from powerhoop, so I had to do a mad dash to buy an alternative outfit from tesco before heading from work to dinner with some lovely (preggers - super congrats guys!) friends. With us moving away in the summer, we're really trying to make the most of our friends being nearby. So that's my excuse for the lack of blogging on Tuesday!

Wednesday was a fairly casual outfit - chinos and my blue mimi blouse. We got home from work super late on Wednesday, and I wimped out of going to my sewing class. An evening spent crashed out on the sofa was in order!

On Thursday, I wore my adapted trousers again, but this time I took pictures of how I adjusted the waist to make it fit better:
Here is the inside view. There's elastic in the waistband. If you look carefully, you might be able to see where I inserted the elastic, but here's a close up:
It has made a really big difference to the fit, so I'll be doing this to lots of trousers in the future. The lack of blogging was due to packing for the weekend...

Finally on Friday, I saved my me-made item for the evening. I've been experimenting with knits and decided that my first jumper/top could be worn for the chilled out film evening of my gorgeous cousin's hen do in beautiful Bath! Unfortunately I was having too much fun to get a pic - I'll rectify that soon by re-wearing.

Saturday was a busy but brilliant hen do day. We went to The Makery to make fascinators. SO MUCH FUN. Here's my effort:

Obviously I couldn't resist buying some fabric to match, so I'll be making a dress to wear to the wedding!

I could have counted the fascinator as Mach-Made, but I squeezed 2 more me-made items into Saturday!!

For afternoon tea at the pump rooms, I wore one of my first hand made dresses, made from bed sheets!

And for the posh dinner and games in the evening I wore my newest creation:

I'm so chuffed to have been able to share in my beautiful cousin's hen do - now I need to get going with the outfit for her BIG DAY!!
Fabric for Charlotte's wedding!

Oh, and Sunday. I just got home. I'm counting home-made PJs as my me- made for today!
